7,500 Hectares of Aquaculture

We are committed to aquaculture as a complementary activity to fishing in the challenge of ensuring marine-based food for our society, relieving pressure on wild fishing grounds.

We are aware that the resources of the sea are limited and that in order to preserve them for the enjoyment of future generations, there must be a special protection set by all the sectors involved.

We have an area of approximately 7,500 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of different species and we have the capacity to supply 62,000 tons per year of vannamei shrimp and turbot. We recognize that aquaculture farming carries with it the obligation to do so in a responsible manner in order to ensure the conservation and effective management of natural resources, including living ones, and especially the productive and regenerative capacity of the ecosystem.

The Pescanova BioMarine Center, in Galicia, Spain, is one of the R&D Centers of international reference in aquaculture, and reflects our commitment to innovation and the desire to develop aquaculture as a source of animal protein healthy, nutritious and sustainable.
